In any other place, this kind of behavior by a candidate seeking to become head of state (or even neighborhood councilman) would spell the end of the line for the campaign. The USA is truly an exceptional place and a land of opportunity in every sense, apparently. But this is also the mark of real freedom; we should be proud we are able to have strangeness like this to keep us on our toes. It should remind us that the price of freedom isn’t free and it’s better to pay the bill for democracy as early as possible before the interest compounds and takes the cost of keeping our liberties out of reach

        That seemed like a desperation vote however, and quickly died with the moribund economy and unstable America of the second Obama term.
