I’d say it might have more to do with the actual content of their posts attracting “certain types” than the medium they’re posting on. If Bluesky is the alternative, they will soon find they’re also gonna get more of the same once those same kinds of folks see their posts. Posting on the open internet means you need to be more thick-skinned/ready2ban|block|moderate. Or just do what I’m doing and host your own spot and DIY everything so you can sidestep the foolishness like:
