This was the exact way I got to know Taipei and most of Taiwan’s urban places:
It’s the same set up almost too– first little bit being free and you can kinda hop-on/off in sections to keep the free ride going if you know how. Taipei also had a deal where if you were using public transport, then using bike-share is free to get that last portion of the trip covered. Not sure if that’s still a thing though…
